The “Afternoon with Uncle Dan” web series is set to start shooting on Hayden Lake on July 19th. The first season of the series was launched in the summer of 2013, and featured seven chefs from local restaurants. A total of 29 videos were produced in the first season, and a total of 21 unique recipes were created for the series. The Peak Flavor of Spices (aka Shelf Life)

A question we are often asked here at Uncle Dan’s is, “how long do your mixes stay good in the package?” Technically, our mixes are dry spices and will not spoil over time. However, spices do lose their peak flavor over time. The grocery stores that carry Uncle Dan’s are told that the mixes have a three year shelf life.
