Uncle Dan's Chipotle Ranch Crispy Spam Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 can of spam
  • Rice flour or almond flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of panko
  • Frying oil
  • 2 packages of Uncle Dan’s Chipotle Ranch Seasoning
  • 1 cup artisan mayo
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Cut the Spam into equal rectangles. Skewer the Spam rectangles with wooden skewers.
  2. In a bowl, mix one package of Uncle Dan’s Chipotle Ranch into 2 cups of rice flour. In another bowl, beat together 3 eggs. Finally, set out 2 cups of panko in a third bowl.
  3. Take the skewered Spam rectangles and dip them into the Chipotle Ranch and flour mixture, then roll them in the beaten eggs, and finally roll them in the panko. Set the prepared skewers aside.
  4. In a deep frying pan or deep fryer, heat up enough oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, fry the prepared skewers until they are golden brown. Ensure to turn them around in the oil so they cook evenly.
  5. While the Spam skewers are frying, prepare the dipping sauce. In a bowl, mix together the second package of Uncle Dan’s Chipotle Ranch, 1 cup of artisan mayo, and 1 cup of sour cream.
  6. Once the skewers are golden brown, remove them from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel.
  7. Serve the hot Spam skewers with the homemade Chipotle Ranch dipping sauce.

Jim,

Thank you for your response. Salt is definitely a concern for some customers and we have debated lowering the salt content and overtime we still might. Although we risk alienating a huge portion of our customer base when changing our formulations that have become so popular. The Classic Ranch would be one of those items.

One thing we can suggest is to reduce the amount of Uncle Dan’s you mix with your dairy. This will change the flavor a little but if you added a little granulated garlic it should bring the flavor back up to what you are accustomed. We would love to hear your comments on how this works for you.

Also, Thank you for the packaging call out. It is on our list to address this year.

What about a lower sodium Ranch Dip? I used to be younger, but would very much like to get much older!
Wouldn’t You Guys like to extend the lives of Your customer base?
I for one could use it as a staple rather than an occaisonal treat!
Also, if it is made in the USA, product should brag about that on the packaging.
Thanks for a lifetime of great flavors.
