This Bleu Cheese Cheesecake with Walnut Crust and Blueberry Compote is a truly unique dessert, featuring a surprising blend of savory and sweet. The rich, creamy cheesecake base is enhanced with Uncle Dan's Bleu Cheese Seasoning, providing a delightful contrast to the sweet blueberry compote. Nestled in a buttery, ground walnut crust, this dessert offers a variety of textures and flavors sure to impress.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds of cream cheese
- 3 cups of sour cream
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of lemon juice
- 3-5 cups of eggs
- 1 package of Uncle Dan's Bleu Cheese Seasoning and Salad Dressing
- 1 1/2 cups of ground walnuts
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cups of blueberries
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of port wine
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.
- Begin with the crust. Mix together ground walnuts, sugar, and butter until well combined. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a springform pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- While the crust is baking, soften cream cheese until smooth. Then add sugar, sour cream, and Uncle Dan's Bleu Cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Reduce mixer speed and slowly add in eggs, ensuring they are fully incorporated.
- Pour the cheese mixture into the pre-baked crust in the springform pan.
- Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes
- While the cheesecake is baking, prepare the blueberry compote. Combine blueberries, sugar, and port wine in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until the blueberries burst and the mixture thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Allow the cheesecake to cool completely before topping with the blueberry compote.
