Pan Sautéed Calamari Recipe
Afternoon with Uncle Dan features guest chefs cooking with the real Uncle Dan from Uncle Dan's® Seasoning and Salad Dressing. This video features Chef Angelo Brunson from Angelo's Ristorante.
INGREDIENTS:
- 7 ounces of thinly sliced baby calamari
- 2 tablespoons of Uncle Dans Chipotle Ranch Seasoning and Salad Dressing
- ¼ cup of flour
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 diced pepperoncini
- 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley
- 2 pinches of chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon of capers
- ¼ of a red pepper, roasted & diced
- 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh basil
- 2 ounces of water
- 1 lemon, squeezed
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 baguette
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat a sauté pan on medium-high for a few minutes.
- Meanwhile, place the pepperoncini, garlic, parsley, chili flakes, and capers in a small cup.
- Mix flour and Uncle Dan's Chipotle Ranch Seasoning together.
- Place calamari in a strainer and sprinkle flour and shake the strainer to coat.
- Place olive oil and the cup of ingredients in sauté pan carefully and shake with tongs to perfume.
- Place calamari in pan and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add water, butter, roasted red peppers, lemon, and basil.
- Serve over a bed of arugula with lemon and extra virgin olive oil and baguettes.
